Sooners Top Aggies

OU WBB beat their first top 10 opponent Sunday afternoon as they beat the Texas A&M Aggies, 74-65. OU's (12-4) only losses came on the road to top 10 teams. However, the Sooners built a large lead and were able to hold on for the win. The no. 8 Aggies drop to 14-2 and 2-1 in conference. OU also improved to 2-1 in the Big 12.

OU led 41-30 at halftime, with their largest being 15 points. But in the second half, the Aggies were able to cut the lead to 60-63 with 6:02 remaining. Danielle Robinson hit 6 free throws in a row to put the game out of reach.

OU was able to hold A&M to 6-21 on three point attempts for 29%. The Aggies also struggled from the free throw line, only hitting 7-15. OU, on the other hand, was 20-24 on free throws, and after a 1-15 effort at Baylor, was 4-12 from three.

D-Rob scored 24 points on the night, including 10-11 from the charity stripe. Nyeshia Stevenson added 20 and was 4-8 from beyond the arc. Both Abi Olajuwan and Amanda Thompson scored 14 points and pulled down 11 rebounds apiece. OU was unable to get any scoring from their bench.

The Sooners committed 19 turnovers, most of which came during the Aggies comeback. Sydney Colson had 5 of A&M's 11 steals to go along with 5 assists and 14 points. Tyra White led the Aggies with 18 points.
