Amanda Thompson had 13 points and 11 rebounds including the game winning putback with 9 seconds remaining. She missed a layup but got her own rebound and scored as the Sooners escaped the Missouri Tigers, 62-61. The Sooners (13-4) struggled with a lack of intensity and sloppy played and finished with 23 turnovers.
OU improved to 3-1 in the Big 12 conference, while Missouri fell to 10-7 and 0-4 in conference.
OU trailed 25-30 after the first half, but was able to pull ahead early in the first. The game went back and forth throughout the second before Thompson made the go-ahead layup. OU's defense forced Missouri into a long three in the final seconds and Abi Olajuwan was there for the rebound.
OU shot 25-52 for 48% on field goals, including 3-7 on three point attempts. The Tigers shot 22-66, including a 2-22 mark from behind the arc, only 9%.
Nyeshia Stevenson led all scorers with 23 points. Danielle Robinson added 16, half of which came from the charity stripe. Abi Olajuwan scored 8 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
OU will play Kansas on Saturday at 2:oo CST.
